A shore is that place where water breaking in waves creates a sound that speaks of arrival, for both those coming from the water and those waiting on the land. The arrival, that is the sound of the waves, is the arrival of those coming and those waiting This is a relative zone.
Look how grassland plants, including yarrow, nodding onion and wild rose, thrive here. Spiders, too.
It would be easy to say that it is neither one thing nor another but between them, yet that is not so. It is one thing: a shore. It is the place of arrival, whatever your point of view.
It is not the place of “being on land” or “being on water.” It is the place of being more.
