Even ladybird shows us the true nature of big sagebrush: it is fire, standing.
Look at her flames and coals!
Traditionally, big sage was used to start fires, even of wet wood, because of her oily wood. Look at her waiting for the fire.
We will know when settler culture has finally stopped colonizing this land when big sagebrush is grown and harvested and not considered an impediment to cattle grazing (and the result of overgrazing.) Instead of wildfire, we would have wild harvest.
