It’s a good day for arrow-leafed balsam roots. They have come fast (in two days). If you hurry, there’s still time for some fine steamed sprouts.
Their menthol flavour is not yet fully-developed. You can still eat them raw. But hurry. The first petal opened by the end of the afternoon.
It’s worth the rush, really. Their taste cleanses and refreshes the spirit, and gives strength from that more than from the “nutrition” within them.
