Nine years ago, I showed you some of the sights of Turtle Mountain in the North Okanagan, and shared my theory that the syilx story of Turtle and Eagle is linked to it. Click here for that old post. You’ll see Eagle and Turtle and turtle eggs and the works. For years, I’ve been looking for more of this story, and I found it yesterday. Here’s Eagle, halfway between Turtle Mountain and Okanagan Lake. The light was only right for five minutes.
And look at that! Turtle is in behind. Between his head and his shell is the eagle I saw before (do click here) , looking straight at the back of this one.
And look at eagle in the fading light. He’s turtle now. How cool is that. Here’s the old link:
