Sun Shadows and Hidden Suns at Work

There are two ways to melt snow. You can lay down fibres of grass, taller than the snow, which heat in the sun and cast shadows of heat on the snow.

Or you can lie under the shallow snow, catch the light that comes through its crystals, and melt it from the inside out.

Your choice, snow melters!
