Instinct at Work and Play

At first, we spot bone, skeletons and ribs. We look. Fish, I’d say.

Then we notice it is ice and turn away. That first look, though, the eye’s own look, is the one that mattered. That’s instinct. Reports that humans are thinking creatures are vastly exaggerated. I find it beautiful to experience how close I am to my nonhuman ancestors, so many 100s of millions of years ago.
