For tonight, when the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead is thinner than breath, I offer you my blessing as you speak to your loved ones on the other side, or on their way.
We are bodies touching in the darkness and making light. May we continue to do so after the sun goes down behind the hill.
May we go bravely forward and not look back, as Orpheus did. He went blind. We don’t need to do that. We have an eye.
It is Earth’s eye. We can see by it when all our lamps fail. Now, as the months of darkness begin, embrace them, for in them all things begin.
Without darkness, we have to make it, and that is beyond us.
