Cherries, too.
It is a lesson in ending anthropological thinking. What would our valleys look like if we grew fruit for the birds, and then, rather than harvesting it for fruit or cider for human consumption, left it for the birds? Much of the wealth gleaned from agriculture in the Okanagan these days is tourist wealth, anyway. I think people would come to a valley flooded with birdsong and people caring for the wild birds. What a gift we could give the world if we embraced our relationship to it.
