Some land has been sacred since the ice left 10,000 years ago. Calling it a natural phenomena, as BC Parks does with Yellow Pond at Big Bar Lake above, allows people to consider the land as something other than a social space, even though statements that it is a “natural space” is a social designation.

The White Earth people were dispossessed just to the southeast, at the foot of the Chasm.
