Not only is a Spigold big…

… but it is very late, which means it ripens when it is cool and so is a far better keeper than its sister, the Jonagold. It has a richer flavour, too. Does it matter if you need a couple days to get through it? It can also be a group desert! These things are rare, but I have a little scion wood for a worthy project.
