Are Pine Trees Binary Engines?

Computers are binary calculation machines, which have reduced mathematics to a series of on-off series. Is it the same with ponderosa pines? Look at the light, filling these needles.

Look at how a slightly different angle changes the amount of light received, as if the tree is a parabolic array, unable to turn through the day but achieving the same thing by multi-angled pokiness.

And off states. Call them shadow if you will.

And off-on states right next to each other. All of these inputs shift and flow through the tree in complex patterns.

All that they lack is an output device. Oh, wait:

That humans lack ears to hear does not reduce the binary machine at all, but it should humble us.
